teams, most teams struggled with aspects of collaboration (i.e. the ability to share leadership

and responsibility, as well as respecting colleagues from other disciplines). Some students
even suggested that groups should consist of only students from the same discipline in the

future (i.e. separate groups for MD and DVM students). Nonetheless, the real success of this
approach is that OHCCs can be integrated into a technical course. Also, it provided students

with opportunities to acquire knowledge, skills, and behaviors related to the challenges they

would face in the field without creating an entirely new course with a specific set of OHCCs.
